You Are My Sunshine Crochet Lovey

We have had a lot of family events these past few weeks, and I mean A LOT. I absolutely love coming from a big, close-knit family, and with that comes get-togethers and celebrations nearly every week.

This past weekend, I went to my cousin’s baby’s 1st birthday party, so I need to whip her up a little something for a gift. After quite a bit of deliberation…thinking ladybugs, butterflies, or maybe something else…I found this You Are My Sunshine Crochet Lovey pattern from Cre8tion Crochet and went to work on it.

I walked in to the party with gift bag in hand, and nearly fell over when I saw this poster hanging on the wall! It was Jenna’s 12 monthly photos with the “You Are My Sunshine” lyrics in the middle!

Then, I glanced over and saw this beautiful table laid out with cakes, cupcakes, candies, and a sunshine balloon!

Upon closer inspection of the cake it dawned on me that You Are My Sunshine was actually THE theme of the birthday party!!!

Even Jenna’s “smash cake” had a pretty yellow sun on it 🙂

And she definitely enjoyed it

Not sure how my ‘pseudo-psychic abilities’ kicked in on this one, but I just LOVE when things like this happen and the outcome is a happy coincidence!

The pattern worked up pretty quickly (maybe about 3 hours), and it got lots of “Ooooohs and Ahhhhhhs” when it was opened at the party. I did mine in all cotton yarn, as I prefer cotton over acrylic in most cases.

If you decide to give the You Are My Sunshine Crochet Lovey pattern from Cre8tion Crochet a try, feel free to share a pic with me on my Facebook page, I’d love to see what you’re making 🙂

Happy Sunshining!~ Kim Denne
