Sangria Icebox Cake,  Fruit Salad, and Punch

Being THRIFTY, I absolutely love when I can find a way to get multiple uses out of something that is traditionally a ONE-SHOT DEAL.I was pulling together our Father’s Day picnic this past weekend, and since we were hosting over 30 people, I needed to find a way to S-T-R-E-T-C-H the items I had on hand to get the most out of them!So, I turned 1 bucket of Samba Sangria Slush Mix into an Icebox Cake, Fruit Salad, and Punch!
Who doesn’t love a fudgey, chocolatey, berry treat??? This Icebox Cake was an ooey-gooey cool dessert that ended up being a HUGE HIT!
Fruit salad is fine, but SANGRIA FRUIT SALAD is phenomenal! With the Sangria Mix simply sprinkled on top, it’s a dish that can served to all ages. If you are having an adult-only crowd, you could add a little wine to it, too, for some added fun.
And of course, my favorite use for Tastefully Simple’s Drink Buckets, is to make a delicious adult beverage! In the background, you see the Fuzzy Navel Slush made with Whipped Vanilla Vodka, and the front is the Peachy Sangria Punch I created!Here’s a quick video describing the recipes I made & the written recipes are below 🙂
RECIPES

Sangria Icebox Cake

1/4 cup Tastefully Simple’s Samba Sangria Mix (you can get it HERE)
12oz whipped topping
2 packages EL Fudge Cookies
4-5 strawberries, sliced
chocolate sauce

Combine Sangria Mix and whipped topping, and spread a layer in the bottom of a loaf pan. Add a layer of cookies, another layer of flavored whipped topping, and repeat until pan is full. Finish with a layer of whipped topping, sliced strawberries, and chocolate sauce. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight. ENJOY!Sangria Fruit Salad
1/4 cup Tastefully Simple’s Samba Sangria Mix
2 cans Mandarin oranges, drained (reserve juice for Punch recipe)
1 20 oz can pineapple chunks, drained (reserve juice for Punch recipe)
large bunch of red seedless grapes
fresh strawberries
(any other fruit you like!)

Combine all ingredients in large bowl, mix to distribute Sangria powder. Refrigerate for about 2 hours, ENJOY!

Peachy Sangria Punch

1/2 packet Tastefully Simple Samba Sangria Drink Mix
1/2 packet Tastefully Simple Fuzzy Navel Drink Mix (you can find that HERE)
2 bottles red wine (any type will do…I like Merlot)
3 34oz bottles Seltzer Water(can use plain or a flavor of your choice)
2 liter bottle of Grapefruit or Citrus soda
juice from Mandarin oranges & pineapples from above recipe (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a 3 1/2 Gallon Drink Dispenser (this is the one I use), or a large punch bowl. Stir to dissolve powdered mixes. Serve over ice, add fruit from above recipe to glasses if desired. (*This makes a LARGE batch…perfect for a party or picnic!) If you have leftover punch after the party, pour it into the TS Drink Bucket, seal with lid & store in freezer, you will be able to scoop out slush whenever you need it 🙂  ENJOY!Happy Sangria-ing!~ Kim Denne, TS Ind Cons.
